Setting Up Shop in Manhattan

One tiny claim staked on behalf of Anja Artisan Jewelry in the city of opportunity. West 56th street, within walking distance of Central Park, the MoMA, and my materials suppliers in the jewelry district. How many little ateliers are tucked into corners and closets of this city?

Coming from the West with overwhelmingly wide spaces, one must adjust to small spaces, and do more with less. No sprawling work tables and excess storage here. As boxes empty and tools overflow shelves and pile onto the floor, my attention turns upward. Wires spools, hammers, pliers, finished jewelry, business cards, and sketches find their place hanging on the walls. After all, building up has always been the solution on this island.

The studio is up and running, the city is buzzing, and the possibilities are vast in this city of tall spaces.
